Philosophy, Religion, and Spiritual Growth

What Does "Spiritual" Mean? by Hugh Lovel
- from an Internet posting on June 2, 1998

Theosophy and Christian Doctrine, by Wm. Kingsland
- from The Esoteric Basis of Christianity, 1891
In this lengthy selection, Kingsland makes several interesting points, including:
1) A claim that Theosophy is the truth underlying all religions.
2) The difference between doctrine and dogma.
3) How the Genesis story is reconciled with conflicting accounts from other cultures.
4) Historical, allegorical narratives were created by the great Initiates.
5) Reference to an esoteric doctrine by St. Paul in I Corinthians.

The Question of the Divinity of Christ, by Wm. Kingsland

Human Energy Anatomy

The Moral Fog, by H. P. Blavatsky
- from The Theosophist, vol.1, no.8, May 1880.
Describes the influence of negative emotions, which hangs in the air like a vapor and troubles the sensitive individual.

The Vibrations of Anger, by Annie Besant
- from Theosophy, (no date)
Explains how emotions are transferred from one person to the next by the influence of vibrations in their astral bodies. A good example of Ms. Besant's precise, illustrative style.

The Etheric Body, by S.G.J. Ousely
- from The Power of the Rays, 1951.
A very lucid discussion of the two components of man's physical body: the dense, visible body, and the etheric, invisible body. Includes an overview of ether and its qualities. Note that Ousely was an intuitive scientist, whose ideas are based on higher levels of perception. Compare this with Haekel, whose ideas about ether (in the Esoteric Sciences section) are based purely on logic and reasoning.

A concise overview of man, his energy bodies, and his spiritual identity.

Speculations on how an ordinary automobile engine might be powered by energy obtained from etheric forces in the atmosphere.

Geometric Energy Fields by Guy McCarthy
A technical paper that reviews the history of aetheric technology and includes specific instructions for constructing resonant aetheric devices. The output from these devices can be readily sensed by many people.
