Publisher's Note

April / May 1997

Welcome to the pages of earthlight!, a premier source of new ideas about health, science, and spirituality. Our publication serves an ever-widening community of holistic-minded individuals and businesses in the Mid-Atlantic region.

This Spring the earth energies are shifting into high gear. After a series of favorable astrological events in recent months, we are entering a period of rapid growth and renewal. Now is the time to recognize and encourage positive change in your life. If you resist growth, you will likely end up with some unpleasant surprises. On the other hand, if you state your good intentions clearly and remain open to all possibilities, you will be surprised at how quickly Nature's finer forces turn vision into reality.

In this issue we present an overview of the philosophy and practice of Dr. Peter Hinderberger, who looks beyond the physical body to gain a deeper understanding of cancer. On other health topics, Sheila Barth introduces a new healing modality which is based on ancient spiritual practice, and Don Campbell presents some remarkable true stories about the healing power of music. We are reminded that the scope of health and well-being reaches far beyond the treatment or cessation of physical symptoms.

In the spirit department, Michelle Gold relates her wonderful experiences with wild dolphins, and shares with us her personal spiritual journey. Carolyn Stearns suggests a method of releasing our fears about death, and explains how to make it a more positive experience. In science, we learn about the new technology from Europe that restores natural vitality to water damaged by industry and high pressure.

These articles and much more await you in the following pages. All of us at earthlight! wish you a very pleasant Spring. Enjoy!

Special thanks to the volunteers, readers, and performers who contributed to our Spring Equinox Party. Nearly 50 people gathered together on a warm Friday evening to celebrate Spring in Frederick. It was a wonderful time and many good things will likely result from the contacts and visions we shared.

There are lots of new groups and activities popping up throughout our distribution area. We encourage you to choose something that sounds interesting and give it a try. Many of these opportunities are free of charge. For more information, check out the Calendar of Events in this issue. Additional listings may be found on our website at www.twelvestar.com.

Warmly,

Guy McCarthy
