Has your life recently been like a roller coaster ride?
Are you experiencing sleep irregularities? Perhaps you are unable
to sleep or you want to sleep at odd times or ALL the time. Have
you been experiencing some intense dreaming?
Have you noticed that your stomach just isn't "right?"
Maybe you have mild to strong nausea, frequent hunger, cravings
for specific foods, short episodes of diarrhea.
How about the rest of your body? Floating aches and pains: headaches,
muscle pains of short duration, mysterious bruises? Emotionally,
how are you doing? Are having inexplicable episodes of strong
emotion such as intensified mood changes - quicker and stronger
mood shifts, both upward and downward? Maybe your tolerance level
for things is changing, for example, commuter traffic never bothered
you much before, but all of a sudden you just don't seem to have
any patience for it.
Hang on! The energy level of our planet is surging forward and
our bodies and our emotions are along for the ride. We've gotten
out of that plodding horse-drawn carriage, and instead we are
the occupants of a streaking jet aircraft. But let's face it,
you can't successfully maneuver an airplane with carriage-style
techniques, so changes are vital. Once you learn to fly successfully,
you'll never want to hobble along so slowly again! How can you
smoothly and easily adjust to these energies? How can you learn
to flow WITH the energy rather than fighting it?
The first key is to realize that energies are shifting, moving
faster and with more intensity. A powerful intensification of
earth's energy has been going on for about 18 months (before that,
it was happening, but more slowly). Planetary energy fuels our
personal energies in many different ways - through the air we
breathe, the food and water we ingest, even the people and environments
near us. New, stronger energy is being added to our planet in
"doses," often during the days surrounding a full moon.
However, sometimes the energy surge lasts for a few weeks; a recent
episode of this occurred from the first week of September through
the equinox on Sept. 22. Perhaps that was when you became aware
of the changes in your own experience.
Reactions to the energy shifts fade with time because your personal
energy system adjusts itself within a few days. All your internal
energy settings get re-calibrated and re-set, much like re-setting
all the clocks in the house after a power surge or power outage.
Obviously, any questionable physical or emotional problem should
receive professional attention, but energy reactions are always
short-lived which helps you to recognize them. Many will be gone
almost before you become aware of them; others can be speeded
along or minimized by deliberate actions.
How can you ease the discomforts of energy shifts? Common sense
is helpful, as always. Many times, mild nausea can be aided by
smaller, more frequent meals. Satisfy your food cravings, even
if it's just a small serving. The craving may represent something
that your system needs. For aches and pains, take hot baths/showers,
get a massage; take painkillers sparingly. If you are sleeping
enough the rest of the month, a few sleepless nights won't wear
you down. In every way, build up your reserves when things are
calm, then you won't be so depleted by the episodes of energy-intensification.
When you are having strong reactions or lots of mood changes,
stay home and minimize stimuli. Match your activities to your
energy level - don't push yourself in times of low energy, but
take full advantage of any surge of high energy by cleaning house
or doing something else productive (even if it's 2 a.m.!)
These ideas may seem simplistic, but they work! The underlying
principle to understand is: pay attention to your body and your
emotions; work WITH them rather than fight against them. Many
of you are far too hard on yourselves. The intensified energies
are bringing you together with the consequences of your choices
- more quickly and more of them! It is CRITICAL that you start
making choices that lead to positive consequences, whether you
are deciding on something small (like what time to eat) or something
much bigger (like what job to take or who to marry). All choices
lead to consequences, and now is a perfect opportunity to practice
with the smaller choices, the results of which are more immediately
apparent.
A final suggestion: Have an experimental, even playful attitude
with these energy shifts. Notice the ebb and flow of the planetary
energy. Discuss it with like-minded folks so you can help one
another detect when there is some energy movement. (Remember,
there is usually at least a small shift with each full moon, and
other larger shifts occurring from time to time.) Use that playful
attitude to concoct new ways to keep yourself on an even keel
- physically and emotionally - during episodes of energy movement.
Be patient with others during these episodes, as everyone is affected
by them but most have no idea what's happening.
You are NOT a passive passenger on this journey, a tourist in
buggy that has unexpectedly morphed into a jet plane! You are
the pilot of the craft, directing it for a smooth or rough ride
- your choice! In another sense, you are immersed in a river that
has gone from a gentle tumble to a faster, more powerful current.
Swim or float, but go WITH the movement of the river. Don't try
to swim upstream - you'll just get a mouthful of water and end
up back where you started!
